After a hatrick of wins- multiple tour player, Vani Kapoor winning spree showed her mettle as she basked in March’s glory, topping the Hero Order of Merit after 6 legs. Hero Women’s Professional Golf Tour had another deserving winner, Rhea Purvi Saravanan, who won the Jamshedpur leg in January this year.
The launch of “Queens of Golf,” a Pro- Am coincided with International Women’s Day and was held on 8th March at the Classic Golf Resort. Amazon, HSBC, MG Motors, Grant Thornton and Thriwe were amongst the worthy sponsors. The QOG was the personal effort of Mr and Mrs Saket Mansingh, primarily in support of female professional golfers. Great kudos for the sponsorship generated- a million rupees for the one-day event that attracted WGAI’s top golfers. The golfing glitterati from different parts of the country were present to support the women pros. The cheer, camaraderie, and support from all the sponsors were gracious and a boost for the female players. Classic Golf Resort nestled in the Aravallis hills and being a top and coveted golfing destination, was indeed a pleasure to play on. Sneha Singh won the title at the inaugural event, with Anahita Singh finishing at 2nd spot.
Holi, or the festival of colour, was celebrated with great fervor in the National Capital Region. It was a unique experience, with spring flowers in full bloom. It is certainly the best golfing month in the NCR.

On the International front, Diksha Dagar adding to her international records and being the first WGAI player to have joined the 1000 Birdie club in the 120 events that she has played. Women establishing records Mimi Rhodes from Great Britain has been on a roll, after scoring a brilliant 62 during her 2nd round at the ford Women’s NSW Open making it her career's best. Mimi got nominated to become LET player for the month of March. The Hero Indian Open, a USD 2.25 million for men also staged at the end of March at DLFGCC was the highpoint for golf lovers in India. The coveted trophy was won by Spaniard Eugeine Chacarra.
Playing conditions matched the Hero Women’s Indian Open played in October 2024; with just three under par scores, players continued to be mesmerized with the uniqueness of the Gary Player Course layout.
With the onset of Indian summer, the southern states of the Indian Subcontinent will host several prestigious golf events in the coming weeks.
