Porthcawl, Wales, July 30: Diksha Dagar will make her sixth appearance at the event, when she tees up at the Royal Porthcawl this week.
The two-time winner on the Ladies European Tour winner, Diksha will play alongside Peiyun Chien of Chinese Taipei and Soo Bin Joo of Korea.
Diksha has now been on the Tour full time since 2019, holds the record for most Top-10 finishes by an Indian on the Tour. She has 22 Top-10s in 130 starts. Diksha, who came close to taking her title tally further was also second at Lalla Meryem Cup this year and third at Hero Women’s Indian Open in 2023.
This year Diksha is the only Indian in the field on the AIG Women’s Open. In five previous starts at the AIG Women’s Open, Diksha has made the cut only once and she finished T-21, the best ever by an Indian.
England’s Lottie Woad, who made a flawless start to her professional career, where she claimed her first title in her debut appearance at the ISPS Handa Women’s Scottish Open, had also won a title earlier as an amateur at the KPMG Women’s Irish Open.
The 21-year-old makes her first major start as a professional this week at the AIG Women’s Open. She was T-10 finish as an amateur last year.
She also came close to getting into to a playoff at The Amundi Evian Championship recently.
Woad will tee it up in round one alongside defending champion Lydia Ko and 2023 champion Lilia Vu.
Ko tees it up this week as defending champion at the AIG Women’s Open at Royal Porthcawl. The 28-year-old claimed her third major title last year in St. Andrews by two strokes over Lilia Vu, Jiyai Shin, Nelly Korda and Ruoning Yin.
