Tvesa leads Indian challenge in Swiss Open as Diksha, Pranavi rest for the week

Golfpark Holzhausern, Switzerland, June 27: Olympic bound Diksha Dagar has taken a break from this week’s VP Bank Swiss Open, but there are five other Indians led by the experienced Tvesa Malik, who is showing a welcome return to form.

Tvesa, who was the top Indian last week in Tipsport Czech Ladies Open, will have for company Vani Kapoor, Amandeep Drall. Ridhima Dilawari and Seher Atwal. Apart from Diksha, the other top Indian player taking a week off is Pranavi Urs.

Diksha said she had some fever and a stiff neck while playing Czech Ladies, so decided to take rest. She used the trip to make a quick visit to Paris to take a look at Le National, where the Olympic golf competition will take place in early August.

Tvesa said she is feeling good and the last few weeks have given her the confidence she needed and is looking forward to a good week in Switzerland. Though she did not play the event last year, she has good memories of a T-11 finish in 2021 when she shot rounds of 66-68 on the last two days.

Vani Kapoor has played a few events this season but not had a Top-10, while Amandeep Drall and Ridhima have had limited appearances. Seher makes her first start on LET this season.

After a one-week break from golf Chiara Tamburlini is feeling refreshed and ready to go in her home event at the VP Bank Swiss Ladies Open.

The 24-year-old rookie tees up as the domestic favourite at Golfpark Holzhäusern sitting fourth in the Ladies European Tour (LET) Order of Merit.

Taking last week off to rest and recuperate ahead of the tournament, Tamburlini – winner of this year’s Joburg Ladies Open – is now excited for the challenge as she looks to kick on with the remainder of the season.

The Swiss star had enjoyed a magnificent start to her debut season winning in South Africa, finishing runner-up at the Jabra Ladies Open, and registering two more top-10s to climb to the top of the rookie standings.
