Aditi Ashok- All Eyes On Ricoh Women’s British Open 2016

India’s first woman Olympian golfer and Rookie on the Ladies European Tour, Aditi Ashok stunned 84 top notch players as she created history by becoming the youngest player ever from India to win and qualify for her first major golf championship - Ricoh Women’s British Open 2016 at age 18!

JULY is Aditi’s August month - as she leaps into golfing history- with another week to go it will be heartening to see young Aditi at her first MAJOR!

Bravo to our young Indian lady golfer who was inspired as a little nine-year-old at India’s first ever Ladies European Golf Championship in December 2007.

A stunning card of 8 birdies and an Eagle in the single round qualifier with a score of 9 under par is yet another feather in Aditi’s nine-year golfing journey. Such brilliance in a one-day qualifier- the Golfing Gods couldn’t have bestowed their blessing on a better day- making Aditi the second Indian woman to Qualify for the British Open after India’s Smriti Mehra in the 90s!

The 40th edition of Ricoh British Women’s Open, has attracted the strongest ever field since inception in 1976. A full field of 144 players who will be seen in action next week from 28th to 31st July at Britain’s Woburn Golf Club, Buckhinghamshire from across the leading tours of the world. The Championship entries boast of 28 players from top 30 Rolex World Ranking along with 49 of the top 50 LPGA players and Ladies European Tour’s top 30 players.

Golfing aficionados will be enthralled by the WorId’s best women players. Beauty and fashion being at its helm next week at Woburn, Aditi Ashok the “little big Indian” girl will battle it out with the very best including renowned defending champion Inbee Park for the giant 2 million plus pounds’ prize purse- “Aditi Ashok will carry a treasure of experience next week with her to RIO Olympics”- a big salute indeed!
